We got featured in Brides magazine

We got featured in the Jan/Feb 2014 issue of Brides magazine. I can't quite believe it's really in there and nearly forgot all about it.

Back in the summer of 2013 (feels like soooooo long ago now!), I was contacted by a member of the team at Brides to submit a selection of work that could feature in their editorial pieces.

There was a list of themes that they were covering and I sent them as much of my Lovely Designs work that met their brief. And one of my items made the cut!

It's the Lily Meadow place card design that was used for Matthew and my wedding.

And the best part is that it's not even an advert, its an actual editorial piece all about pretty floral stationery.

High five people!

A little bit of advertising in Brides magazine

A couple of months ago, I got contacted by the advertising department for the wedding magazine for Brides. There was a special deal offered, so I thought I would give it ago.

I had previously advertised in British Vogue which wasn't as successful as I had hoped (despite all the hype you get sold). So I thought, I would ply my trade on a magazine aimed at brides to be. Wish me luck!

So my little advert is in the November / December 2013 issue of Brides and you can see it here:

Wedding Fairs in Autumn 2013

Chosen

This coming weekend on Sunday 27th Oct 2013 is the Chosen Wedding Fair that will be held at the Chelsea Old Town Hall.

They had their first wedding fair back in May and went along with my mum to check it out. It has a lovely vibe, partly because of the fantastic and historical venue, but mainly because of the great mix of suppliers.

The upcoming fair theme is "Love Letters" and on the day they will have a map of London for Brides to pinpoint where their romantic moment has happened. It will then be collated into their Love Guide to London.

As it was my mum's birthday, she was treated to a bit of hair and makeup touch up and got our photo
taken by the girls at the Pin Up Studio. I just love how it captures our close relationship.

Miss Vintage Wedding Affair

Last Sunday (20th October) was Miss Vintage Wedding Affair that is held at the Battersea Arts Centre. I have heard some great things about this fair and would definitely consider exhibiting there in the future. It's worth checking out the site and looking out for the next fair in the Spring.

One Love

Also last weekend was the One Love Wedding Show that was held on the 19th and 20th October with unique and inspirational ideas for gay and lesbian couples. It was their first fair and was at the Hospital Club, London. It was founded by Sara Smyth who started the online wedding boutique Ruby + Diva (that I am also listed with), and Becky Hoh-Hale who runs A Most Curious Wedding Fair, held in Brick Lane, London.

Check out the photo shoot that was shared on the Love My Dress blog which tells you more about the One Love fair here.

Zoe Lem's Vintage Fair

This time last year was Zoe Lem's fair at the Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell. It then moved to the Bloomsbury Ballroom in the Spring. The next fair was supposed to be on Sunday 2nd November 2013 but seems to be cancelled. If it does get reinstated, it's worth going along to and had plenty of inspiration and entertainment.

Here are some photos of my stand at the last Zoe Lem fair back in April.

Our Lovely Designs stand with Marie-Louise, Philippa and Jo representing.
Our headwear was by the talented Rachel Black.

We dressed up in keeping with the Cabaret theme!

I designed the signage around the event to let people know where things were.

My floor plan for the event.

Another vintage inspired sign. I used dramatic colours to tie in with the flyer.

There was an amazing photo booth that we had giggles over getting our pictures done!
