Mother's Day Ideas

Things to do

The Rose Lounge (picture from their site)

Take her out to afternoon tea. I have been to the Rose Lounge at the Sofitel, near Picadilly Circus a couple of times. They do a great selection of teas, yummy scones and not as pricey as some of the hotel afternoon teas in London.

Or if you fancy something else, take a look at lastminute.com for their Mother's Day gifts for under £50. They have spa retreats, comedy nights, Family Photo Experience and loads more. Personally, I really like the idea of the 2 for 1 on the Thames Cruise Sightseeing from £13.50. Fresh air, views and affordable.

Handmade and unique gifts

Hey Mama!

Etsy and Folksy are brilliant sites for finding unusual and limited edition items and designs. Check out my Treasury list entitled Hey Mama! (pictured above) which is a selection of my favourite Mother's Day related items. There are some great gift ideas for your mum, for Mother's Day, birthday or Christmas. It's never too early to order something so special.

Last minute gift ideas
You can't go wrong getting something from good old Marks & Spencers! They have some great ideas on their Mother's Day gift guide, with examples for a 'Stylish Mum', 'House-proud', 'Pampered' and 'Classic Mum'.

Here are a couple of gifts with butterfly patterns that I particularly liked.

Another pretty fail safe and accessible option is Next and they also has a Mother's Day gift guide. I wouldn't mind some of the stuff for myself! Their last minute delivery options don't hurt either.

Mother's Day Cards
You wouldn't be a good son or daughter if you didn't at least get your mum a card. And that's where I come in! If you haven't sorted yours out yet, why not buy one of mine that you print out yourself. If you have more than one card to give (i.e. mother-in-law, stepmother and grandmother), you can print out the card as many times as you need to.

Here are my three Mother's Day cards available from any of my online shops at Etsy, Folksy and Big Cartel. All of them use secure payment checkout using Paypal and are £2.99 each.
